KickDrum
started as a high-precision sine-wave oscillator, released in December 2023. Through your messages and ideas to improve and extend the plugin, it grew into what it is today: a comprehensive drum-design suite, that allows you to quickly achieve desired sounds, wrapped in a UI that facilitates a fast and intuitive workflow - while maintaining the "very punchy sound" folks loved right from the beginning. We think this is a big leap forward and are proud to present to you KickDrum 2.5
- Sample Analyze Function
- Modular, Nestable Device Chain
- 3D Wavetable, Wave Designer & advanced Harmonic Editor
- State of the art Bézier Curve shaping
- 64bit floating point full signal look-ahead audio engine
- Linear phase Equalizer with unlimited bands
Analyze Function
KickDrum's analyzer deconstructs kick samples into a modular, nested device chain, where every aspect from pitch over timbres to envelopes becomes fully editable.
- The tonal body is recreated using the internal Oscillator,
- The transient and noise characteristics are isolated into a separate Sampler module.
- The resulting patch is a functional replica of the original sample, ready for further manipulation.
- Ideal starting point to learn from established artists helping to reach your signature sound faster
3D WaveTable + WaveDesigner
The foundation of KickDrum is a powerful oscillator with deep customization capabilities. Move beyond basic waveforms to design unique tonal characteristics.
- 3D Wavetable Editor: Create, shape, edit, delete, rearrange every wave inside the wavetable
- Harmonic Editor: Directly control the gain and pitch of individual harmonics or add new ones to reach the desired overtones.
- Phase Control: Fix a phase zero-crossing point in time to preserve your transition into the bassline while editing the pitch envelope
Modular Device Chain
Construct your signal path with a re-orderable chain of processing devices. This modular architecture allows for unparalleled flexibility in sound design.
- Flexible Routing: Freely arrange modules like EQ, Distortion, and Reverb.
- Nestable Devices: Place devices inside one another for complex, targeted processing on specific sound components.
- Signal Visualization: Monitor the audio at any stage in the chain to see exactly how your sound is being shaped.
- Copy/paste devices across patches and presets
State of the art Bezier curve shaping
KickDrum's powerful Bezier curve editing allows to shape the gravity point freely on two axis, allowing to transition exactly where needed - while maintaining smooth connection between nodes.
- move single or multiple nodes on one axis as filigran as needed
- powerful node connection smoothing to get rid of newly introduced high frequencies through sharp edges at node connections
- select and edit multiple nodes at once.
